San Gimignano Or Siena Excursion
Explore the charming hilltop town and UNESCO World Heritage Site of San Gimignano in the company of an expert guide. Guarded by a ring of fortified walls, Tuscany’s “Medieval Manhattan” is a small town of gnarled stone palaces and narrow, winding lanes known for its 14 majestic standing medieval towers, the frescoed interior of its Collegiata, and the fine white wine made from grapes picked on the surrounding hills: the Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Stop for lunch at one of San Gimignano’s many restaurants, including Michelin star restaurant Linfa, and Michelin rated restaurant San Marino 26 (the wine-paired, tasting menu is a must have), and stop at the gelateria awarded to be the world’s best; a must see stop, even for presidents visiting Italy.
