Radicondoli Festa of Roasted Chestnuts and Wine

Autumn marks not only the harvest, but the beginning of chestnut season when the air is filled with the smell of roasted chestnuts on the fire. This late October annual festival is steeped in ancient tradition and is one of the most authentic and spectacular wine festivals in Tuscany. From very early morning the town’s band begins to play, marching from farmhouse to farmhouse and waking people up. During the day everyone enjoys local snacks and a delicious glass of wine. The day is then spent at the park at the town’s highest point, where the town enjoys a picnic on the grass while the band goes on playing until nighttime.
