A classic route option is to start in romantic Florence and stroll the streets of its historical center. If you find the time, head south of the river Arno to Giardino Torrigiani, a 16th century, UNESCO protected garden (and Europe’s largest of its kind) that features 17 acres filled with plants and trees species around the world. Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; This festival is a two-month extravagant showcase for international opera, concerts and ballet. It’s Italy’s oldest music fest and happens right in the heart of Florence at the Teatro dell’ Opera.
